Recently picked up a basic Canon 550D with an f1.4 50mm prime and this is the first project I’ve used it on with homeslice Tim Crawley.  Seems pretty nifty so far – really enjoying the obscenely narrow DOF the prime lens can achieve, making footage look like a photo. The workflow & ergonomics of using a DSLR over a proper video camera still need some getting used to, but as ever, there’s loads more still to come.
